Filed under: Fantasy, Science Fiction, Pulp, Horror, 25-28 mm, Victorian Science Fiction, Steampunk, Post Apocalypse, Monsters, Undead

The end of September is nearly here which means Halloween is just around the corner. It’s time for the ethereal spirits of the dead to rise from their burial places and haunt your characters.

Here are five graveyard ghosties ready to drift about your lonely cemetery, abandoned house, or forgotten battlefield.

Each spirit sports a tormented visage. Wails of the damned emanate from their distended mouths.

Perhaps they are trying to seek help from the living to right a wrong in their past life. Or maybe they just enjoy causing fear in whomever they encounter.

These miniatures are sculpted in the 25-28mm game scale. Ghostly spirits can appear in nearly any style of role-playing game or table top miniatures game. Fantasy, horror, pulp, science fiction, they all can be enlivened by a phantom or two.

Military Remote Recon Drone and Missile Drones for 25-28mm War Gaming
Filed under: Science Fiction, 25-28 mm, Post Apocalypse, Scratchbuilt
Posted by: G R @ 4:43 pm

Robotic drones will play important roles in the future. Here are some military drones for your consideration. (A 25-28mm scale miniature is included in the picture for scale reference.)

First, this small aerial recon drone is used to remotely survey active battlefields. It possesses a number of sensor systems to map the battlefield and acquire intelligence resources.

Once the recon drone has done its job in identifying possible enemy targets, these missile drones are dispatched on strike missions.

The drones are attached to bases that measure 1 inch (25mm) in diameter. Designed for use with 25-28mm scale war game miniatures.

Post Apocalypse Soldier Survivor 25mm Scale Game Miniature Figure
Filed under: Science Fiction, Horror, 25-28 mm, Zombies, Post Apocalypse
Posted by: G R @ 5:28 pm

Welcome to the apocalypse! Our hero has managed to survive the first chaotic months of the zombie plague.

A bit worse for wear (his tattered clothing speaks to some of the tight spots he has survived in the post apocalyptic world), he carries an assault rifle. He also has a semi-auto pistol in a belt holster.

A small backpack carries all of his meager possessions. A small coil of rope hangs on his shoulder.

This 25 mm scale game figure could easily assume the role of a Player Character or NPC in many role-playing games and table top war games including post apocalypse, zombie infestation, science fiction, pulp action and horror genres such as Call of Cthulhu™.

Them! Attack of the Giant Radioactive Ants Miniatures for 15 to 28 mm War Games
Filed under: Fantasy, Science Fiction, Pulp, Horror, 25-28 mm, 15-20 mm, Post Apocalypse, Monsters
Posted by: G R @ 3:22 pm

The 1954 movie Them! was one of the best science fiction movies from the 1950s. Filmed in black and white, it followed the discovery of giant mutated ants that were the unintended result of early nuclear weapons testing in New Mexico. The expanding colonies threatened to take over the world. It was one of the first giant insect sci fi movies that appeared in the middle of the 20th century.

In the same vein, here are some giant ants to terrorize the denizens of your game world. First we have a group of worker ants. The one at the far right is emerging from the entrance to the underground colony.

Then there is the larger Queen ant!

Uh oh, our unlucky 25mm soldier has found himself confronted by several of the creatures!

Here are photos of the ants with a 15 mm scale science fiction soldier miniature.

These over sized monsters would be right at home in many science fiction, fantasy, pulp and post apocalyptic game worlds. In particular they would make for an exciting Halloween horror scenario!

Post Apocalyptic Soldiers in the Ruins 25mm Scale Miniature Figures
Filed under: Science Fiction, 25-28 mm, Post Apocalypse
Posted by: G R @ 11:36 am

“Hey, Sarge! Where are we going next?”

Fighting in the ruins of civilization has a lot of challenges. Including staying in touch with the rest of the force. Here are three ground soldiers fighting across an urban battlefield.

While Sarge tries to connect with central unit command to get further orders, the other two ground pounders keep vigilant watch over the ruins in case hostile troops should appear in the immediate vicinity.

These soldiers are light assault troops. Their main weapons consist of a variety of small arms.

They wear ballistic body armor for protection. High tech helmets contain com gear for intra-unit communications.

These wargame figures are sculpted in 25mm scale and can be used in many science fiction or near-future table top miniature wargames.

Post Apocalyptic Resistance Fighters 25mm Game Miniatures
Filed under: Science Fiction, 25-28 mm, Zombies, Post Apocalypse
Posted by: G R @ 4:07 pm

The invasion was swift and devastating. The initial assault left most of the cities in ruin. But there are survivors and some of them have become resistance fighters doing what they can to fight back and inflict losses on the invaders.

Our first fighter has obtained an automatic machine pistol. But he has also discovered the ways that even primitive weapons, such as a simple Molotov cocktail, can be used against the enemy.

A second member of the underground warriors uses a military assault rifle in combat.

Both bases are detailed with debris from the urban battleground.

These 25mm scale war game miniatures can be used in a variety of post apocalyptic scenarios including alien invasions and zombie outbreaks.

Creepy Crawling Abominations with Tentacles Halloween Horrors 25mm
Filed under: Fantasy, Science Fiction, Pulp, Horror, 25-28 mm, 15-20 mm, Post Apocalypse, Monsters
Posted by: G R @ 8:34 am

Something is slithering about in the dark corners of the laboratory! Soft squishy sounds come from the shadows.

What has our little mad scientist been creating under the full moon in time for Halloween?  Some “trick” for the local children to discover when they come trick or treating at the doctor’s door?

Tentacled terrors to haunt the dreams of any sane person, that is for certain. Experimental Life Form 1 exhibits signs of high intelligence, just not necessarily anything that conforms to human standards. Multiple eye pods  move about in seemingly uncoordinated ways, looking in different directions at the same time. Tentacles grasp at the air, seeking to make contact.

Experimental Life Form 2 is a bit less sophisticated, but no less alien. These creatures lack the obvious eyes of the first abomination, but seem to move in response to some other stimuli, possibly body warmth. Tentacles stretch out, touching everything in the vicinity, using a high sense of touch to explore their new world. Their skin erupts in oozing sores, filling the lab with objectionable stench. The good doctor has thoughtfully provided a fresh zombie as a treat for his new pets.

These creatures could pop up in any science fiction, horror or fantasy game world.  The mad scientist and zombie figures in the photos are 25mm scale for size comparison. But the critters also could be used as very large monsters with 15mm scale miniatures.

Zombies in the Hospital Emergency Room 25mm Miniatures
Filed under: Science Fiction, Horror, 25-28 mm, Zombies, Post Apocalypse, Monsters, Undead
Posted by: G R @ 3:04 pm

The hospital was being swamped with critical care patients from this new flu outbreak. Our poor surgeon was in the Emergency Room when the ambulance arrived with a new batch of victims. On first glance, it looked like the patient had expired in transit. The doctor checked for vital signs, found none, and declared the patient officially dead.

And then the corpse jerked spasmodically, reached up to grab the surgeon and proceeded to take a rending bite from his arm! Now all of his patients are looking rather tasty!

He had come in to the emergency room because he had fallen and hurt his neck. The ER doctor ran some tests, put a brace on his neck and said he would be fine in a couple of days. But that all changed when one of the other ER patients went crazy and started chewing on anyone in sight!

On the plus side, his neck doesn’t seem to hurt anymore. Or maybe he was just too hungry to notice the other pains.

A few more 25mm scale zombie miniatures to add to the hordes of the walking dead!

Mutant Animals Roam the Post Apocalyptic Wasteland in 25mm Scale
Filed under: Science Fiction, Horror, 25-28 mm, Post Apocalypse, Monsters
Posted by: G R @ 6:20 pm

The radioactive dust, biological weapons, and chemical toxins do not affect only the human survivors in the post apocalyptic world.  Just as before the holocaust, humans find themselves sharing the world with other creatures, from the tiniest insects to the largest mammals.  And these non-human survivors have been subject to radical change as has the human population.

Here are a few of the larger mutant animals roaming the wastelands of the new world.

Once hailed as man’s best friend, the canines still wander the ruins.  The reduction in ready food sources and increased competition from other mutated animals, the new breeds have reverted from their domesticated form back to more dangerous creatures.  This example has been visibly transformed into a six-legged variation.

Kin to the dog, wolves have also survived although changed into larger and even more aggressive specimens.

Rats have been cohabitators with Man for thousands of years.  Wherever Man built his towns and cities, rats were sure to follow, usually hiding in the darkness, generally keeping out of sight.  But the vermin of the post apocalypse have evolved into an even more urgent threat.  Here are a couple of giant-size rats that are more than willing to directly challenge any human.

It’s a new world in the wastelands.  Humans will need to fight to maintain their dominance in the new natural pecking order.

These miniatures can appear in many post apocalyptic game worlds as well as fantasy and horror settings.  The human survivor shown facing the mutant animals is a 25-mm scale figure for size comparison.

Human Mutants of the Wasteland Post Apocalyptic Miniatures
Filed under: Science Fiction, Pulp, Horror, 25-28 mm, Zombies, Post Apocalypse, Monsters
Posted by: G R @ 10:07 am

Life in the ruins of the post apocalyptic world is hard.  It is made even harder by the lingering effects of radiation in the war-blasted citiesMicroscopic enemies in the form of biological and chemical agents lie in wait in the recesses of the devastated landscapeHuman survivors find their bodies and minds being reformed and the children of the damned enter the world barely recognizable as belonging to the same species.

Here are some of the mutated humans that roam the ruins, seeking to survive in a altered and terrifying world.  Of course, survival sometimes means preying on other human survivors.

Eyes glow with the effects of residual radiation, seeing colors beyond normal human capacity.  Muscles transform and bulge beneath skin mottled by internal ravages.  Skeletal structures morph into grotesque new forms.

Some mutants retain most of their human mental capacities, others devolve to more basic animal instincts.  A few retain the ability to use tools, although their “tools” may simply be the bones of their previous victims.

These game miniatures are sculpted in 25 to 28 mm scale.  They can provide dangerous encounters in post apocalyptic, science fiction, horror and pulp miniature war game scenarios.
